But what are the best exercises to reinforce that core? 🍎 . ✨ The obliques are a 2 - layer panel of muscles (internal and external oblique) that run from under the ribs to the front of the hip bones. Did you check out my video on what and where the core is? . ✨One of their important ACTIONS is lateral/ side flexion. It’s FUNCTION is lateral/ side stability - you know, for when you’re carrying a baby/ toddler/ child/ groceries/ capsule/ heavy item on one side - it literally contracts and holds you up so you don’t tip sideways! . ✨It also gives you that lovely definition around the 6 pack and them ‘V lines’ at the front of your hips *BUT* as a physio I’m all about how it works, not really about how it looks (side note - who doesn’t want an awesome core?! ) . ✨These are intermediate - advanced oblique exercises and should not be attempted immediately postnatally. Check with your physiotherapist/ physical therapist for the right level to start at. . ✨Will you try these today? Comment below! Want more info?
