Kara completed a Bachelor of Behavioural Neuroscience at Monash University before going on to study a Bachelor of Health Science/Masters of Physiotherapy Practice at La Trobe University.
Kara currently works at Glenroy Specialist School and specialises in neuromuscular conditions in children. She works with children who have a wide variety of conditions including Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy (Duchenne’s and congenital), Rhett’s syndrome and various genetic conditions to name a few. She also works regularly with non-verbal children and is familiar with keyword symbols, PODD books and Picture Communication Symbols (PCS).
Further, she has experience with wheelchair prescription, walking and standing frames and Ankle Foot Orthoses (AFOs). Outside of working with children, Kara also enjoys treating muscular conditions. She has previously worked at Balwyn Football Club, St. Kevin’s Football club and La Trobe University Touch football club. Coming from a strong sporting background, Kara has a passion for sporting injury management as well as Thoracic spine injuries.
