Jenni Allen
Jenni Allen works as physiotherapist to a number of elite sporting teams and consults out of Bounce Blackburn and Nth Ringwood.
I grew up in North Ringwood and attended Norwood Secondary College where I finished in 1999. From school I went straight into Physiotherapy at La Trobe University where I also completed an Honours thesis.
I have always had a keen interest in sport having played a lot of tennis myself as a junior. Whilst at university I was a sports trainer for both Croydon and North Ringwood Football Clubs and have continued my involvement at North Ringwood Football Club since graduating. I am also involved with injury prevention education to local football coaches.
The other two main sports I am involved with are basketball and gymnastics. I have been the team physiotherapist for the Under 18 Mens Victorian Metro basketball team for 2007-2009 National Championships which has allowed me to commence travelling with a team which is an interesting and challenging experience! For season 2007/2008 I worked with the Dandenong Ranges WNBL team and am looking forward to commencing a position with Knox Raiders Womens SEABL team in 2009.
I have been working at Waverley Gymnastics Club for the last 3 years and have had the privilege of managing 3 of our Beijing Olympic team members in this time. I also do coverage of local gymnastics competitions in Victoria which I enjoy thoroughly. I recently was selected as physiotherapist for the Victorian State Womens Gymnastics Team for the National Championships in Perth.
I am keenly interested in managing junior athletes and being from the local area has allowed me to have an involvement with many local teams of which I am familiar. At Bounce, along with the normal Physiotherapy consultations I also run Pilates and Hydrotherapy classes.
I am currently completing a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy finishing in 2009 which will allow me to expand upon my current skills and experience in sports physiotherapy.
On a personal note I like singing, tennis, and playing with my lovely Labrador named Diesel.
