Ian Anderson
Exercise Physiologist
Ian
has completed, a Bach Health Science (Honours) at Australian Catholic
University as well as a Master of Applied Science (Exercise Rehabilitation) at
Victoria University. He has worked
in a number of different settings such as rehabilitation hospitals, divisions
of general practice, universities and private practice. Ian has been at Bounce now since
January 2006.
Ian
is an exercise physiologist and Elite level strength and conditioning coach
with a strong background in core training and injury rehabilitation his
basketball strength and conditioning experience includes training the Knox
Raiders Seabl teams as well as many junior basketballers. Ian also has
extensive experience training athletes across a broad variety of sports
including, soccer, AFL, hockey, swimming and athletics. Ian heads up the high
performance testing for Bounce health group and also lectures masters students
in the clinical exercise physiology at Australian Catholic University.
Ian also specialise in the development of exercise
programs for deconditioned patients and patients with multiple
co-morbidities. Ian has extensive
experience in assessing the functional capacities of a patient and their
appropriateness for a safe specialised exercise plan to accommodate various
pathologies such as cardiovascular diseases, metabolic disorders and chronic
musculoskeletal conditions, then implementing their exercise plan, taking into
account their preparedness to change, current lifestyle, physical and psychological
barriers and current medications.
