Dr. Philip Bloom
Doctor Philip Bloom is a specialist Sports Physician consulting in Melbourne out of Bounce Blackburn. Philip has been a sports physician for over 20 years and holds positions at Bounce Health Group, Knox Private Hospital A&E and Carlton FC (AFL).
Philip has a special interest in interventional sports medicine and delivers a number of specialised techniques for various musculoskeletal disorders. These interventional therapies include PRP (platelet rich plasma) injections for muscle, tendon and ligaments, tenocyte implantation and in 2012 will begin bone derived stem cell therapy. Philip also prescibes shockwave therapy.
Philip provides a number of these treatments under ultrasound guidance (medicare rebates apply).
All these therapies are not restricted to elite athletes and can be accessed by sports people at any level and people not in sport with musculoskeletal disorders.
Philip is available by appointment and a GP referral, although not essential, is recommended.
