Another Gold for the U16 Vic Metro Womens Basketball Team
Bounce Physiotherapist Magna Roy has recently returned from Ulverstone, Tasmania with the victorious Under 16 Womens Basketball National Champions, Vic Metro. This year was the 10th straight gold medal win for the under 16s womens side after beating the South Australia Country team in a grueling and close grand final. This year the trip was made even more impressive with the Vic Metro Under 16 Mens team also winning the gold medal and Australian title.
The plane trip home certainly looked impressive with the two Vic Metro teams stepping off the plane with gold medals around their necks!
Megan was kept extremely busy both in the months leading up to the event and while away with the team. Her role consisted of thorough injury screening, injury prevention strategies, managing pre-existing injuries, consulting and guiding coaching staff, implementing recovery strategies, managing acute injuries as well as assisting the team manager with cooking and general motherly duties.
While at the tournament Megans work was essential in allowing the team to make the finals. Her team had a number of players that were battling with injury as well as coughs and colds, that threatened the team throughout the tournament. Megan provided expert management including physiotherapy
